Fantastic doesn’t even begin to describe this engagement session with Anne & Scott! We had amazing weather, ice cream, wine, whiskey, vintage Coka-A-Cola and of course two of the sweetest people you’d every want to meet! ☺️
Our session started at the studio with hair and makeup by Blushing Beauty Hair. There was great conversation and champagne as Anne got ready. And so much laughter! 😆
We headed just across the Lincolnway to St. Monica Catholic Church for the first part of their session. Anne & Scott will be getting married there this August so we wanted to incorporate it into the session. It was Anne’s brilliant idea to add ice cream to the mix. These two are BIG ice cream eaters so it was only right to bring it into the photos! That’s what I love about engagement sessions… you get to personalize them and each one is so unique. 😍
As the ice cream started to melt, we walked across the street to the Beutter park swings where Scott proposed! Their first date was on these swings too so it was only fitting that we pay tribute to such an important location in their relationship.
Of course I had to put the ring in the ice cream… it would have been weird not to! 🍦
Picnic time! There are a lot of these because for one thing, they’re just too cute and secondly, Anne loved all the ‘outtakes’ so I kept them! Laughter and being yourself makes for the best photos!
After a little wine spill and some strawberry eating, we walked down to the water for our coke photos. Such a cute idea… very 1950’s soda shop!
So cute!!! 🥤
We were headed back to the car when I saw this beautiful tree and insisted that I stick them in it. I love when I can use outside elements to frame a photo. It pulls your eye into the subject.
A sunny afternoon stroll!
We got back to the studio to change into their formal look and then headed to downtown South Bend. We chose the East Race because the industrial feel matched perfectly with their outfits. The light was fading fast so I added light to create a more dramatic look.
The bridge overlooking the water… so romantic!
On our way back to the cars, I saw this beautiful spot by the water that I wanted to utilize. It was basically in the water so we had to be careful. But the payoff was worth it! ❤️
We ended with a dip! So perfect and I love all the street colors!
To Anne & Scott – I had the most amazing time with you and I hope you did too! I can’t wait till your wedding! It’s going to be the perfect day! Cheers – Chard bunglers 😆(inside joke)
