When Edna orders snow – boy does it snow! 😉❄️
It was time to bundle up for Edna and Michael’s engagement session last Sunday. They had gotten engaged in winter so why not have their session in winter too! I was totally on board because few couples do winter engagement sessions. I think the snow makes almost any location look like a Hallmark movie special. ❤️ Plus, since they’re getting married next July on the campus, the photos won’t look similar at all (which is always the goal when the engagement and wedding are in the same location). We planned two dates to ensure we’d have that perfect fluffy snow and we got lucky on the first try. 😊
Our day first started at the studio for hair and makeup. Edna was pampered by Ashley 💄 and Nidia 💇🏻♀️ and we discussed all thing work, wedding and the weather. After some much needed girl talk, it was time to head over to campus.
We started over my the lake in hopes of getting some beautiful, snow covered trees. With not a cloud in the sky and not a single leaf on the trees, we had to get creative when it came to great photo spots. Luckily, Edna and Michael were willing to trek through the deep snow in order to get best shots. The lighting here was gorgeous!
Just up the hill a little further was a hidden spot that was flatter and easier for Edna and Michael to stand on. You can tell that Michael really loves his gal. ❤️
Through the snow we went in search of some green pine trees. It took us a few minutes but we finally found this beautiful spot that had tall pine trees that were covered in mounds of snow. I LOVE the colors here! 😍
I wanted to have snow falling for one of the photos so I had Grace throw snow in front of the camera. The first time, the wind took it away from the camera entirely. But the second time, the wind blew the whole snow ball right in my face. The four us couldn’t stop laughing. It was all down my coat, in my hair and covered my camera. Totally worth it though because we got this one incredible moment. ❄️❤️
We LOVE giggles! 🙂
We walked back behind the Grotto to find this adorable path, perfect for a walking shot. And these two nailed it!
Just around the bend, I saw a single pine tree in the distance. I ran over to it and shot through the branches as Edna and Michael enjoyed a private moment just the two of them.
Since everywhere we went had snow, it only made sense to do the ring shot in the snow. Edna’s ring glisten in the sunlight. 💍
A visit to the Grotto for a quick squeeze! These are my favorites of the day! Love the warm glow from the candles. 😊
Our last stop was the Lyon Arch at the law school. The architecture and beautiful light make this a must-stop photo location.
An intimate moment, just us two!
Their outfits matched the location perfectly!
A WOW shot to end this amazing session! 🥳
To Edna and Michael – I had such an amazing time getting to know you guys better and of course, getting pelted with snow. You two are so much fun to work with and I can tell how much you truly care for each other. I’m thrilled to be on this incredible journey with you and I can’t wait for next year! All my ❤️ – S
