Tricia and Ian met back in June of 2022 through online dating. After a year of dating during quarantine, Ian moved in and they’ve been inseparable ever since! 😊 Now they’re planning a spectacular wedding at the Palais this October and I literally can not wait! From our first meeting, we clicked right away. Tricia loves the grandness of the Palais Royale and hates all things country… My kind of gal! 😉
Tricia and Ian wanted to stay local for their engagement session so I thought why not hit up St. Mary’s College and Notre Dame. Neither of them went to these colleges but the landscaping and architecture is hard to pass up. Plus there are tons of locations on each campus that aren’t college specific (aka no Dome shots). Even though it was a chilly day, the sun was out in all its glory which gave their photos a beautiful golden hue.
Before heading out to our first spot, Tricia and Ian met us at the studio for hair and makeup. We discussed wardrobe, wedding details and enjoyed some wine! Tricia got all dolled up and the off we went to St. Mary’s College.
On campus, we focused on the island and surrounding areas. With it being so early in the year, there wasn’t a lot of plants in bloom yet. However, the island still managed to have some beautiful green and yellow hues. 😊
Tippy toes!
Love the orange bushes along the island. Gave a nice pop of color!
LOVE!
No island photos are complete without that beautiful bridge shot! 🤩
The willows hadn’t fully came in yet but that didn’t stop Tricia and Ian from snuggling in the branches. 😍
I photographed Tricia’s ring in a tree that was wrapped another tree. I liked the different levels and textures that it provided. Plus the ring fit nicely in a small pocket between the two trees. 💍
Outfit and location change!
Tricia and Ian changed their outfit and headed to the lake around Notre Dame’s campus. The sun was falling just below the tree line which made for perfect sun flare photos. These are my favorite from the whole session! 🥰
OBSESSED! ❤️
Just off to the right were these big pines trees. The darker color made Tricia and Ian pop off the background.
A little stroll around the lake. 😊
A little further around was this cute nook by the water. Such a pretty spot! And Tricia’s jacket matches the leaves. 🙂
We were all about to loss feeling in our fingers so we hopped back in our cars and drove to the main part of campus. I wanted a few photos without a nature background and the law school and Fitzpatrick arch are perfect for that.
So sweet! 😍
Perfection!
To Tricia and Ian – Thank you for a very fun (all be it cold) engagement session! You two are a blast to hang out with and I can’t wait for your gorgeous wedding at the Palais! I truly hope you had as much fun as I did and that you got the feeling back in your feet and hands, lol! So excited to be on this journey with you! All my love – S
