Mandy wanted fall, and boy did she get fall!! You couldn’t have asked for a more colorful day! The leaves were especially yellow today which really accented Mandy & Evan’s outfits.
Mandy and Evan are getting married in their hometown of Fort Wayne this coming January so we wanted a different local for their engagement session. Since they live in Indy, it only made since to take advantage of Indy’s many great locations.
We started at the Fishers’ nature preserve literally right behind their house. We spent the most time here due to the vast colors, the open areas and the trees created a canopy from the howling wind.
If you’re wondering, yes I did go knee deep in the creek for the bridge shot. And in case you’re wondering… it was 40 degrees, raining and AWESOME!
Next it was time for a formal affair! We went to downtown Fishers for a more modern, formal look. Mandy had seen this cute train platform that we quickly took advantage of for a GQ Magazine, model look.
Before leaving, I put Mandy’s huge diamond ring in a city grate. Not to worry friends, I would never do something with a ring that I didn’t think I could save. This grate was surrounding a tree so I was able to put my hand under the ring and catch it just in case. The results thou… WOW!
Lastly, we ended at Broad Ripple! You can’t have a bad day in Broad Ripple! The wind was really starting to pick up and our light was fading so we stayed close to restaurants and city lights. It was hard not to stop for a burger and a beer thou… Yum!
The night shot was so fun but required a little engineering. The bride had lights on it that only sort of worked and the streets were crazy busy. In post production, I removed my assistant, added more lights and got rid of all the people and cars in the background. Time consuming but SO worth it!
Enjoy Friends!
