St. Hedwig Parish fall wedding – Janelle & Eric – South Bend Wedding Photographer

The weather couldn’t have been more perfect for Janelle and Eric’s fall wedding day!  Their October 24th wedding was beautiful and intimate as they shared it with their closest friends and family.

This beautiful fall day began at Janelle and Eric’s home where the guys were getting ready. The groomsmen had no problem assisting Eric with this final touches. 😆

Eric’s ring has a wood grain look and feel.

Small home, no problem. We were able to get these very handsome portraits near a window in their dinning room. Just goes to show you, you can get great images anywhere. Especially if you’re allowed to move furniture. 😉

Leaving the boys to their donuts and football, I headed to Janelle’s mom’s house. Once I arrived, I started on Janelle’s details. This ring shot! 😱

Janelle’s mom helped button up her dress and then Caitlin and Emily assisted with Janelle’s finishing touches.

Our gorgeous bride! That dress fit her perfectly!

We drove to Buetter park for the first look. The scenery and moment was perfect!

Wedding party silliness!

Our beautiful ladies!

Our very funny gentlemen!

A mask picture is definitely a must.

As we walked back to our cars, I had Janelle and Eric stop on the bridge for a few portraits.

Across the river to Battell park for more photos and eventually meet up with their families for family formals.

Creatives time!

The Nijak’s and the Pyclik’s!

After family formals, we drove to Kate’s Garden for 10 minutes of portraits before going to the venue.

Off we went to Saint Hedwig Parish in South Bend. Janelle and Eric wanted to have their ceremony and reception in the same location. When we arrived, it was beautifully decorated in lavender and navy.

Janelle and Eric exchanged vows and rings. 💍

Mr and Mrs Nijak! 🥳

Janelle, Eric and their wedding party enjoyed cocktail hour. Eric’s dad met us at Saint Hedwig so we made sure to get a formal portrait with him.

The newlyweds! 😍

After dinner, Janelle and Eric cut a cupcake together! 🍰

Eric’s brother, Gary, gave a short and sweet speech.

First dance as husband and wife.

Parent dances were done together. 🙂

Party time! 💃🏻🕺🏻

For their night shot, I couldn’t stop looking that these cool light fixtures in the hallway just outside their reception hall. I racked my brain onto how I could use them in a shot. There were a lot of distractions, (exit signs, tables, chairs, etc…) that kept me from finding the right spot. Finally I realized, if I shot from outside looking in, instead of inside the hallway, I could eliminate most of the distractions because they would be behind me or would be covered by Janelle and Eric. I’m sure it looked strange to everyone walking by but I knew I could make something unique that had ever been done in this venue before. So with a little prep, patience and a sprinkle of magic, I was able to create these two romantic and intimate moments.

Lastly, I took Janelle and Eric outside for a quick lift in the street! We had to watch traffic but it was worth it and I know they had fun.

To Janelle and Eric – Thank you for trusting me to capture your beautiful journey. You both were amazing to work with and I truly enjoyed being apart of your day. It was so relaxed and fun and I know your wedding party and guests had a blast too! I’m so excited to see you both in the future and see what the Lord has in store for this next chapter. All my love – S
