Are you ready for vivid fall colors and a lot of giggles… then you’ve come to the right blog post! Kate and Sam’s fall engagement by the lake on Notre Dame’s campus was colorful, fun and had a surprise ending!

Kate and I had only met over video chat, so I invited her and Sam to come early to the session so we could meet officially. Right away, it was if we had been friends for years! Between swapping study abroad stories and discussing all the fun details of their August wedding, we could have talked all day!

After hair and makeup by Blushing Beauty Hair, we headed to Notre Dame for their engagement session by the lake. Kate and Sam really wanted those bright, fall colors so we spent most of our time at the lake.

The sun was so bright that we spent most of the session at the northwest end of the lake. However, this turned out to be amazing because the colors were spectacular! These photos are my favorite because of the bright and multiple different color leaves. 🍂

Got to love a good walking photo! These two nailed it!

Going even further back in campus, we found this cute area that I had never seen before. It had a bench that overlooked the lake but was hidden from both the sun and everyone else.

Kate and Sam threw their coats on to change the look of the photos as they stood overlooking the water. I may have been standing in the lake but oh well.  Anything for the picture! 😉

Right beside us was this orange plant that looked like small pumpkins. The bright orange berries were the perfect place to show off Kate’s stunning ring! 💍

We walked up to the Grotto where Kate and Sam lite a candle. The light here is always so beautiful. ❤️

We walked up to God Quad for a few pictures in the ‘Kissing Tree’. The deep green leaves make the perfect vignette. 😍

Oh our way back to our cars, we stopped at Bond Hall for a little snuggle fun!

Just as we were about to get into our cars, we noticed this gorgeous, pink, sunset. Yes, ladies and gentleman, that is 100% real!

Our surprise ending to this wonderful session was our trip to Rohr’s. One of Kate and Sam’s favorite memories together was going there for a beer after a home game or long week. Due to Covid regulations however, Rohr’s was not serving indoors so our original idea of having them sit at the bar for a drink was scrapped. There was no one inside except for staff. However, the manager went above and beyond and let us come in anyway for pictures. We couldn’t go behind the bar but we were able to have an entire section of seating to ourselves. The manger and his staff were so accommodating and we were so grateful. So even though it wasn’t quite what we planned, it was even more memorable because the staff at Rohr’s absolutely did not have to do that, especially in doing so, they’d have to sanitize everything again. Thank you Rohr’s!

To Kate and Sam – Thank you for a wonderful session together and for, let’s face it, just being plain awesome! I had a blast and I hope you both did too! Thank you for taking me along on this wonderful journey with you! I literally can’t wait till next year! All my love – S
