Megan and Zach met their freshmen year of college at Notre Dame. What started out as good friends, turned into more after a fun night of bowling and walking around the lake. They made it official their senior and have been building their relationship ever since. Today we’re celebrating their engagement on the most beautiful May afternoon.
Before heading out to campus, Megan and Zach met us at the studio for hair and makeup. We chatted about wedding updates and that they are in the process of buying their first home. So exciting! When hair and makeup was done, we hopped in the car and headed to our first location.
Megan and Zach had personalized Notre Dame jerseys made with their wedding. So it was only fitting that we start our session at the stadium. It would have been great to go in but everything as still a mess from the Garth Brooks concert. 🤣
A quick walk to the library for some major cuddle time. Even though there wasn’t a cloud in the sky, we still managed to find a cozy spot for these two! ❤️
The wind was pretty intense but that didn’t stop Megan and Zach from having fun. 😊
We hopped back in the car and headed to the lake. A quick outfit change and Megan and Zach were ready for more! The view of God Quad, the sky blue lake and the purple bushes made for the perfect spot. I’ve never seen it look so pretty. I did anger a goose in the process but it was worth it. 🤣😉
We walked the path around to the south side of the lake were more florals were blooming and the light was perfect. Seemed like the perfect place for a walking shot!
Picture perfect; like a Hallmark card! 😍
We nestled into a willow tree for these gorgeous shots! They’re my favorite from the day! ❤️
One more outfit change and it was time for the Grotto. Megan and Zach lit a candle and shared a special moment together. 😊
Just outside the Grotto, the tulips were in full bloom. All the different color trees and the white tulips made for a beautiful backdrop for Megan and Zach. 🌷
LOVE! ❤️
Next, Megan and Zach took a stroll around the Basilica.
Then they spun their burrito and the giggles were non-stop. 🙂 In case you’re confused, spinning into each other is called the ‘burrito’. 🌯🤣
So cute, can’t stand it! 🥰
Megan and Zach cozied up on the steps of the administration building.
And of course we needed that iconic Dome!
I told Megan to run and hug Zach and these adorable moments were the result. 🙂🙂
An evening walk in God Quad.
Since there were tulips all over campus, it only seemed fitting to use one for the ring shot. These bright red tulips hadn’t bloomed yet which made them the perfect spot for Megan’s ring. 💍
We were about to call it a day when I spotted the sunset reflecting off the lake. I had Grace grab the gear so she could light Megan and Zach from the side as I used my phone to create a double reflection. I love the deep blues and purples. 💙💜
I can’t decide which one I love more! What’s your favorite?
An epic end to an epic session for sure!
To Megan and Zach – Thank you for humoring me as spent almost an extra hour getting these creative shots all around campus. You both are incredibly sweet and I hope you had as much fun as I did during your session. And also, thank you for allowing Grace and I to come along on this wonderful wedding journey with you. All my love – S
