Becca and Charles’ engagement was filled with plenty of weather excitement! We had a beautiful winter wonderland and then super cold and rainy. I don’t think mother nature knew quite what she wanted to do that day. To be fair, we shoot in 2 different states but they were like 10 miles apart. 🙂

After Becca got her hair and make up done by Nidia of Blushing Beauty, we headed off to Fernwood Botanical Gardens in Niles, Michigan. I had never been there but the photos online looked gorgeous. Due to the rush of snow coming down, the gardens were closing early so we had to make every moment count.

This was no problem though for Becca and Charles who immediately turned on the cuteness and made my job so easy. They are so much in love that all I had to do was watch (and click the shutter lol). We were having a blast playing in the snow and walking around the beautiful grounds. Thanks to the snow, we had the place to ourselves which we didn’t mind.

After a blizzard of cuteness, we jumped back in the car and headed for South Bend. When we arrived, we were greeted with wind and rain… no cute snow picture here. We stopped at the South Bend Chocolate Cafe for drinks and to warm up. We waited out the rain and then headed to Howard Park.

Becca’s beautiful green dress fit her perfectly and Charles’ 3-piece suit made him look very dapper. 🙂

Due to the rain, the light was almost gone so yet again, we had to kick it into high gear to ensure we could get all their photos in. Again this was no problem and even though we were cold, we were having such a fun time!

I was so happy that the twinkly lights were on at the park. It created a beautiful atmosphere and it really felt like they were just taking a stroll in the park together.

I knew I wanted to use the lights under the bridge for their night shot. The lights change colors and dance along the water which makes it the perfect choice!

Thank you Becca and Charles for putting up with the crazy weather and for letting me join you on this wonderful wedding journey! I hope you feel better Charles and save travels. I’m so excited for your beautiful wedding day in October! All my love  -S
