An intimate Notre Dame wedding – Jideofor & Elochukwu – Notre Dame wedding photographer

Saturday was the perfect day as Jideofor and Elochukwu renewed their love for each other at Notre Dame’s gorgeous Basilica! Jideofor and Elochukwu are strong believers in Christ and devoted Catholics. Jideofor is getting his PhD in engineering at Notre Dame and jumped at the chance to express his love for Elochukwu in a place that means so much to him.

They were the only wedding that day because Labor Day weekend isn’t a wedding weekend for the university. However, Notre Dame happily made an exception for these two beautiful people. The ceremony was at 9am which meant the sun was shinning so brightly through the stain glass windows (on the east side) that it created beautiful color shapes all along the aisle. Even though it’s pretty early, the light alone makes me want to always shoot here at 9am.

The ceremony began as Jideofor saw Elochukwu for the first time walking down the aisle.

All the speakers and singers during the ceremony. Jideofor and Elochukwu actually read the scripture passages. That was the first time I’d ever seen the bride and groom do that. I thought it made the ceremony even more personal. 🙂

Exchanging of vows and rings. 💍

Prayer as Father prepared communion.

“You may now kiss the bride!”

Mr & Mrs Odoeze!

Formal photos.

All of their wonderful guests joined them for a photo on the stairs of the Administration building.

Jideofor’s professor attended the ceremony which really meant a lot to him so we made sure to get a picture.

Our awesome wedding party!

Get ready to laugh as these great human beings had a little too much fun walking in front of Tough Down Jesus!

I got to give Elochukwu credit… she gave it her all and jumped so high in her 3 inch heels. Girl is a rockstar!

We said goodbye to the wedding party and walked back to the Grotto parking lot but not before stopping at a few amazing spots to take portraits. You can tell they truly love each other! ❤️

Look at that smile… she is so happy! ☺️

WOW!

As we were leaving the arch, Jideofor wanted to get a photo in front of the Fitzpatrick Hall of Engineering. He spends all of time here and absolutely loves what he’s learning. The photo is the first one in this blog post. ⬆️

Of course a Dome picture was needed! Look at that perfect sky!

The front doors of the Basilica. That deep cherry color really pops and is the perfect background for these two love birds!

We made it to the Grotto where Jideofor and Elochukwu lite two candles.

This is my favorite image… so romantic! 😍

Super model Elochukwu! 🥰

The handsome Jideofor!

As we said goodbye to these two, I thought it would be fun for Jideofor to carry Elochukwu; like he swept her off her feet.

The perfect end to the perfect day!

To Jideofor and Elochukwu – Congratulations, I wish you both nothing but love and laugher as you continue on this beautiful journey together! Good luck Jideofor with your PhD program and Elochukwu, I wish you the best in applying for PhD programs in economics! God bless – S
