Love on the SS Lilly Pad – Jamie & Josh – Destination Wedding Photographer

Jamie and Josh’s beautiful story began back in March of 2020 when an online match turned into a fun lunch date. They loved spending time together, so much so, that they didn’t want the date to end. So Jamie hopped in Josh’s car and joined him on his errands for the rest of the day. It was only fitting that when Josh proposed, he did so in his car. Josh said “You know I want to spend the rest of my life with you.” Jamie was so surprised and immediately said yes! ❤️

Going to the lake has always been a big part of Jamie’s life growing up. Her family owns a house on Lake Wawasee and they’ve shared countless memories there over the years. Even though Jamie and Josh live about 3 hours away, they visit quite often and it’s become their own tradition now. So when it came time to look for a wedding venue, Jamie and Josh both knew it would be at the lake.

The Frog Tavern is one of their favorite places to go on the lake and it’s also home to the SS Lilly Pad. A huge boat that can be rented for events and weddings. A three-hour-tour around the lake where they could get married and have a rockn’ good time on the water! It was perfect! This is Jamie and Josh’s wedding day story. 😍

The day began at Oakwood Resort, just around the corner from The Frog Tavern. Grace and I arrived at the hotel to start on details. Jamie and the girls were starting makeup and enjoying the giant charcuterie board and champagne. I used Jamie’s dress as the backdrop for all of her details. I love the simplicity of the ring shot. You can see the detail in all 3 rings perfectly! 💍

As the ladies continued to get ready, I headed upstairs to check on the guys. Josh’s details and outfit matched the blue of the lake perfectly.

The guys were excited to help Josh look his best! 🤣

A toast with the boys! 🍻

We went outside for Josh’s portraits. He nailed it! 😎

I left the guys and returned to the bridal suite to get Jamie dressed. The gazebo just outside Jamie’s room was the perfect spot for the dress shot and portraits.

Jamie’s niece, Everly, watch as Jamie got her hair done. ❤️

I just LOVE that smile! Jamie was glowing. 🥰

After hair and makeup, it was time to get dressed. Jamie’s mom and sister helped button her up, while Everly made sure her sandals were on tight. 😊

A toast with all the beautiful ladies. 🥂

Jamie looked stunning! 🤩

First look – Josh was beaming from ear to ear. ❤️

Our amazing bride and groom! 🙂

Our wonderful wedding party!

Just us gals!

Just the guys!

We then did all the family photos before heading to the boat.

All the special people in Jamie and Josh’s life. ❤️

Ceremony time aboard the SS Lilly Pad.

Once the boat left the harbor, the ceremony began.

That moment when you see each other down the aisle. 😍

Jamie and Josh exchanged vows and rings. 💍

For their unity ceremony, they braided three strands together.

Final prayer then the kiss!

It’s official, Mr and Mrs Horn! 🥳

Jamie and Josh greeted all their guests and then we did a few portraits on the boat before going downstairs for dinner.

The light is just perfect! 🤩

After dinner, I pulled Jamie and Josh outside to catch that beautiful sunset. 🌅

Jamie and Josh signed their marriage license and then joined their guests downstairs. I love the personal touches they incorporated on the tables. 😊

Let them eat cake! 🎂

Party time! 🥳 The upstairs was converted into the dance floor and with the help of Jamie’s uncle, Murph, the party was hoppn’!

When the boat docked, all of the guests lined up to send Jamie and Josh off with a sparkler exit.

LOVE!

The party continued inside the Frog Tavern so it was only fitting that we get a group shot out front. 😊

Jamie and Josh ended their perfect day with two night shots outside the Frog Tavern.

Because this place as so many memories for them, it was the perfect ending to their perfect day! 🥰

To Jamie and Josh – Thank you for bringing Grace and I along on your amazing journey to the alter. The day was perfect and we had a blast! Thank you for trusting us to capture these priceless memories and for treating us like a member of your family. All my love – S
