Intimate October Wedding at Tippecanoe Place – Angie & Jay – South Bend Wedding Photographer

After two years of planning, rescheduling, a pandemic and a hurricane, it was finally time for Angie and Jay to have their fairytale wedding at Tippecanoe Place. However, their story begins long before face masks were a thing. Angie and Jay met online over 5 years ago. After chatting online for awhile, they decided to have their first official date at McAlister’s and go bowling afterwards. It wasn’t long before these two were discussing marriage. Angie said she knew Jay was the one after their third date. 🙂

Angie loves Jay’s big heart and his zest of life. Jay loves how caring Angie is and that she’d truly do anything for the people she loves. When it was time for the proposal, Jay decided to do it at Tippecanoe Place. However, the mansion was booked that day so he took Angie next door to the Oliver Inn. They sat on the swing together and then Jay got down on one knee and asked Angie to marry him. This was such a big part of their story that we recreated it during their engagement session.

Even though Angie and Jay’s wedding day had to be a year later than they planned, it was finally their turn. This is Angie and Jay’s wedding day story. ❤️

I arrived at the Oliver Inn to find the girls running around in their matching PJ’s and sipping mimosas. As Angie started her makeup, I started on the details. Their ring box was engraved with their names and made for the perfect spot for the rings. 💍

I left the ladies and walked to the main house where the guys were hanging out with Jay. Jay’s three best friends made sure he looked his best for the big day. 😉

Yes we took a picture with the creepy mannequin. 🤣🤣🤣

Jay’s details – His cufflinks were guitars (Jay is a huge music buff) and his tie clip represented his time in the army.

Sorry ladies, this one’s taken. 😎

Back at smaller house, the ladies were ready to get the party started. Before Angie got dressed, the ladies toasted our beautiful bride. 🥂

Giggles are the best!

Angie’s beautiful details.

Angie’s best friend and matron of honor, Jennifer, did an amazing job with all those buttons. I’ve never seen anyone button a wedding dress up so fast.

Angie put on her finishing touches and then we did her portraits outside.

Angie was glowing! 😍

Jay was waiting for us over at Tippecanoe Place for the first look. 😊

Next, we jumped right into bridal portraits.

So precious! ❤️

These two had the giggles all day! 🥹

A stroll around the grounds.

Our awesome wedding party!

We hopped in our cars and drove over to Saint Mary’s College. The beautiful campus gave us plenty of great photo options.

Across the bridge is the island which had the best light. Love these!!! ❤️

They are so happy! 🥰

Time for a little wedding party fun!

Just the gals!

Just the guys!

A few feet away was this cute bench so I had Angie and Jay snuggle up together. 😊

LOVE! 💕

And of course we had to get a willow tree shot. The wind proved to be an issue so we only got a few but that was better than getting hit in the face by a branch. 😉

We finished up photos and headed back to Tippecanoe Place for the ceremony.

As Angie walked out, her eyes were filled with tears. She walked down the aisle and then Jay joined her and walked her up the stairs.

Angie and Jay read their vows to one another and then exchanged rings. 💍

It’s official! ❤️

Mr and Mrs Smith! 🥳

All of the guests joined us outside to celebrate! 🥳

As cocktail hour started, we captured family formals.

Angie and Jay had the whole bottom floor and patio for their reception.

I loved the crystal tree centerpieces!

All the guests lined up as Angie and Jay made their entrance into the reception.

They immediately walked in and cut their cake. 🎂 (I had some… So good!)

As dinner was being prepared, we started speeches. Jennifer and Joey both gave very heart-warming speeches to the happy couple. ❤️

After dinner, Angie and Jay mingled with their guests.

Time to make it legal. 😉🤣

To end Angie and Jay’s perfect day right, we took beautiful portraits around the mansion.

This view never gets old! 😍

We walked up to the next landing and used the banister to frame Angie and Jay for a more intimate moment.

Using the same location, I simply changed the angle and light direction for a completely different feel. 😊

Our final photos were right in front of the mansion. Angie and Jay walked along the grounds and then stopped for a kiss. 😘

The perfect end to the perfect day! 🥹

To Angie & Jay – Thank you for trusting me and bringing me along on this amazing journey. Even though this wasn’t your original wedding date, the day couldn’t have been more perfect. You two are a blast to be around and I wish you nothing but love as you move into this new chapter. All my love – S
