Studebaker Engagement – Angie & Jay – South Bend Wedding Photographer

June 27, 2021

What better way to personalize your engagement session then by the location. When Angie and Jay said they wanted to have their session at the Studebaker Museum in South Bend, I was thrilled! Multiple levels of vintage Studebaker cars as our backdrop… what could be better?!

We started the session at the studio for hair and make up. Angie wanted a vintage 50’s look to go with the location and her outfit. While Angie was pampered by Nidia (Blushing Beauty Co.) and Ashley (Ashley Urban Artistry), Jay and I reminisced about favorite concerts we’d been to.  After hair and makeup was finished, Angie and Jay changed into their first look and we headed out for the museum.

Right as we walked in, there was a Studebaker that you could actually sit in, so we quickly took advantage of that!

Talk about romantic!!! 😍

Angie and Jay popped out of the car and we continued to walk through the main floor. There was one path that was bigger than the rest so it felt like the perfect opportunity for a walking shot. They nailed it and I love how you can see all the cars and displays in the photos. 🚗

Next stop, the drive in! 🍔

Love this look so much! 😍

In the middle of the museum there was this huge neon sign along the staircase. By stepping back and shooting from across the room, we made a very big space feel intimate and special. Plus you all know I love to shoot through stuff. 😉

As Angie and Jay were changing into their last outfit, I photographed Angie’s killer ring. Talk about vintage… 😱 My first attempt was on one of the cars but it didn’t work out. There was no good spot to put the ring that it stood out enough and this ring needed a spot light. So when we arrived at the Oliver Mansion, I placed the ring in between the brick path. Now we could properly show it off! 💍

The Oliver Mansion has incredible grounds with a huge brick pergola and garden. 🌸

On our way out, we snagged a quick moment in the beautiful gazebo.

We hopped in the car and drove over to the Oliver Inn. The same place where Jay purposed to Angie. They sat on the swing just like they had that same day and then we recreated the proposal. These are my absolute favorite moments from the day! 🥰

We stopped at Howard Park really quick as we made our way downtown. These stairs are crazy steep but make for a great location!

Just across from the steps was this section of tall, colorful grass.  I had Angie and Jay stand together and I held a weed against my lens to create a natural framing and golden look. Love how they came out!

Our attempt at walking down this courtyard didn’t work out but this blooper were too funny not to keep! 🤣

Our last stop was at the South Bend Chocolate Cafe. What started out as a cute place to sit, quickly turned into must have ice cream and carrot cake. The ice cream was amazing but didn’t last very long as a prop. 🍦

Such a fun way to end such a great day! ☺️

To Angie and Jay – Thank you spending this wonderful day with me and letting me get to know you even better! I’m really looking forward to your wedding at Tippecanoe Place because I know it will be filled with laughter, good food and of course, love. All my love – S
