Generations of Love – Laura & Payton – South Bend Wedding Photographer

Laura and Payton met back in 2020 when Laura moved to Arizona for work. They met online and it wasn’t long before they knew they had something very special. Payton originally proposed back in 2021 but thanks to Covid, they decided to wait to get married. As things got back to normal, Laura and Payton were ready to start planning again. They decided to get married at Tippecanoe Place Restaurant. The same place her parents got married back in 1982. This is Laura and Payton’s wedding day story. ❤️

Grace and I arrived at Tippecanoe on this beautiful, 60 degree day in April. We were a little early so we helped set up the dinning room and gather all of Laura’s details. Next it was time to find the guys. Down in the den, Payton’s groomsmen were making sure he looked his best for his big day. 🤣

Doesn’t Payton look handsome in his custom suit? 😎

We headed outside to do some groomsmen and family photos before the ceremony. The boys showed off those suspenders proudly. 🤣

The Vold family. 😊

Meanwhile upstairs, Laura was getting into her dress. Laura’s mom, Lucy, zipped her up in her dress while her bridesmaids helped her with her shoes and veil. 🙂

There were so many gorgeous portraits of Laura that I had a hard time narrowing it down. Doesn’t she look radiant? 😍

There wasn’t a dry in the room when Wayne saw his little girl for the first time. 🥹

I love the symmetry of them drying their tears. ❤️

Back outside for more bridal party and family photos. The Dickey family! 😊

These snazzy ladies were all smiles. 😊

As guest began to arrive, it was time to line up for the ceremony. The main floor of the Tippecanoe Place Restaurant was all set for the big event.

That moment when you see each other for the first time. ❤️

Such a gorgeous place to get married. 😍

Laura and Payton exchanged vows and rings in front of their dearest family and friends. 💍

It’s official! 🥳

The newly married, Mr and Mrs Vold! 🥰🍾

Laura and Payton signed their marriage license and then joined their guests outside for a big group photo! 🙂

We continued family formals out by the patio. It was such a beautiful day. ☀️

Our amazing wedding party! 😊

As guests enjoyed cocktail hour, it was time for Laura and Payton’s portraits as a married couple. ❤️

I’m obsessed! 🤩

LOVE! 💕

I don’t think it’s possible for Laura and Payton to take a bad photo. I loved them all! 😍

Laura requested a grand dip photo that could be painted later by an artist they hired. Done and done! 🤩

After their stunning portraits, it was time to come inside for dinner. The main floor drawing room and library were transformed into Laura and Payton’s elegant reception.

Laura and Payton made their entrance down the grand staircase and went right into cutting their cake. 🎂

Laura’s dad, Wayne, welcomed the guests and gave a very heartfelt speech to his daughter and son-in-law. 🥹❤️

After dinner, Laura and Payton greeted each of their guests and then proceeded outside to the patio for cocktails. 🍸

Since Laura’s parents also got married here, it was so important to their family that we recreate a photo from their wedding day. After 41 years, these two are still crazy about one another. 🥰

Laura and Payton mingled with their guests as the sun went down. The kids had a blast taking pictures with the Polaroid cameras. 📷

As the sun set, the boys broke out the cigars. I knew I wanted to create an epic photo with the smoke and the deep blue of the sky. I had Grace hold a light behind the guys with a green gel on it. It took several takes to get this shot, (and a lot of lung capacity from the guys), but it was totally worth it! 😎

Party time! 🤣 💃 🪩

Every aspect of today just screamed Old Hollywood. Even down to the custom neon sign Laura and Payton had made. 😎

Back up on the main floor, Laura and Payton shared a private last dance. ❤️

We couldn’t leave without a few photos on the grand staircase. 😍

What better way to end the perfect day than with a sparkler exit. Each guests got two sparklers which really added to the fun! 🤩

Congratulations Mr and Mrs Vold! 🍾

To Laura and Payton – Thank you for allowing us to be a small part of your wedding journey. It’s been a blast getting to know you both and we couldn’t be happier for you! I know the Lord has big plans for you in this next chapter. All my love – S
