The sun was smiling down on Jillian and Pat’s Notre Dame engagement session today! ☀️

Jillian and Patrick met in New York during their junior year at Notre Dame. They were in the same major and attended the same internship so it was funny that they hadn’t met before then. They live in New York City now and traveled all this way to pay tribute to their alma mater by having their engagement session right here campus!

Normally we’d start their session with hair and makeup but since I had never met Jillian and Pat in person, I had them arrive a little early so we could meet and chat about their wedding day. Jillian found me through Notre Dame’s Glitter and Gold website so our only communication has been through the phone or email. ☎️

Nidia of Blushing Beauty Hair arrived shortly after and she started on Jillian’s hair. Pat and I talked about how he proposed and what it’s like to live in New York City. If you know me at all, you know I’m a New Yorker at heart so I was living vicariously through their stories. 🗽

Once hair and make up was done, we headed to campus. Our first stop was the stadium where Jillian and Pat wore personalized jerseys they had made that said their married last name and their wedding date. So clever! 🏈

You know I love to get my couples moving and these two nailed the walking photos! Like model perfect! 😁

Jillian and Pat changed outfits and we walked to the library but not before grabbing a few cute moments on Notre Dame Avenue. Hello Golden Dome!

Picture Perfect!!! 😍

We started to walk to the central part of campus but made a quick stop at the arch.

I always love to shoot on the steps of the administration building because the blue tones and architecture give such visual interest to the photos.

Just a few steps to the left is the Basilica where Jillian and Pat will be getting married next July!

We walked down to the Grotto where I knew I had to do the ring shot there. This is Jillian and Pat’s favorite place on campus so it was only fitting! 💍

The ring is suspended between 2 lit candles. Probably one of my favorite ring shots ever! 😱

These two are so cute together… I can’t handle it! 🙂

Jillian and Pat were totally up for a lift! And they nailed it!

As the sun was setting, we drove back behind the lake were you can see both the Golden Dome and the Basilica for our final photos. Since COVID had prevented them from doing their session in April like they planned, they wanted to do a fun mask photo. I know they’re smiling but you can’t see it. 😆

These night shots are killer, no doubt! The deep blue sky and the reflection of the Dome in the water… wow! 😱

To Jillian and Pat – Thank you for traveling all this way to not only have your session but meet face to face! I had such a fun time during your session so I hope you did too! I can’t wait to photograph your gorgeous wedding next year! Love – S
